Ah, Amsterdam. Scene of so many a legendary stag weekends, with your friendly cafe culture, your fantastic drinking scene and your (in)famous Red Light District. This is a city where the party might never stop but, in all likelihood, you guys will want to get some rest at some point. Allow us to help you with that part. The Stag Company has been helping lads organise incredible weekends away in the ‘Dam since 2004, and over the years we’ve built up a solid network of stag-friendly hotels and apartments around the city. We’ll ensure you and the boys are staying in a comfortable, quality accommodation that meets your budget and perhaps most importantly of all, is within an easy walk (or a short taxi) from the main nightlife areas of Amsterdam. As anyone who’s ever tried organising a stag do by themselves can tell you, sorting out the accommodation is the trickiest and most boring part. Tell our helpful stag do planners what you want, and what you want to spend, and we’ll take care of the beds while you get on with the fun stuff like planning your activities and where to drink - and of course, we’re on hand to organise all of that for you too.
If you're after the lowdown on public transport in Amsterdam, then you've come to the right place! This city is filled with loads of public transport options that are reliable, efficient and wallet friendly too! Navigating your way around the city has never been easier with regular services on the trams, buses and metro. Plus, there's even ferries too! All of the above options make exploring Amsterdam a doddle, ensuring your stag do runs nice and smooth.
When it comes to trams, they're great for zipping around the city centre. There's 15 tram lines here and they're so easy to hop on and off, getting you to your destination super quickly. Generally, we'd always recommend the trams, but buses and the metro are great too, and ideal to use for trips located that bit further out
Best of all, you can grab yourselves travel tickets that'll let you use the entire network. It really is a no brainer, as it saves you the hassle of buying tickets every time you use public transport - you'll just need to show your pass and that's it! Easy. If you want to save even more money, you could always purchase the I Amsterdam City Card. This handy card provides unlimited public transport travel, along with free entry to museums and certain attractions. Nice one!
There's also taxis readily available in Amsterdam, but with everything else at your disposal, you more than likely won't be using them. Make the most of those trams, buses, and metros and let the city's epic public transport take care of you! And remember, Amsterdam is big on its bikes, so there's always the option to rent some or get involved in a tour - the decision is yours for the choosing!
Thanks to Amsterdam’s awesome array of public transport, along with its bike friendly infrastructure, there’s really very little need to hire a car for the stag do. If you and the lads have decided to do a European road trip and are driving to the Netherlands, then you’ll need to know a few things about parking in this bustling city.
Amsterdam offers a good mix of both short stay and long stay car parks, however it’s good to do your research in advance when it comes parking fees so there's no surpises!
An alternative option is to park at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. Here, you'll be able to leave your car for 48 hours or longer. You can then head into the city centre using the trust public transport options, all while enjoying peace of mind that your car is safe and secure. If you're looking to park up somewhere a bit nearer, we'd suggest considering Q-Park Europarking which is located on the Marnixstraat. This multistorey car park is located just west of the city centre and is just a 15-minute stroll from all the action of Dam Square!
If you're planning a stag do in Amsterdam, you're in for a treat! The city has plenty of options for accommodation, whether you're after a cheap hostel or a fancy hotel.
Hostels are a popular choice with stag groups as they offer an affordable option, with plenty of socialising opportunities. However, hear us out; don't let the word "hostel" put you off. Hostels these days are generally pretty modern, with all the amenities you could possibly need, including super-fast Wi-Fi and even private rooms to fit your whole group. There will even be communal areas at most, where you’ll be able to chill and meet other travellers.
If you’d prefer a hotel, then Amsterdam has a range of options to suit every budget. We’ve got everything from basic, clean and comfortable hotels which will make the ideal base for your weekend, right through to the more stylish and luxury properties, some of which include indoor pools, spas and state of the art fitness facilities; ideal for those groups looking to indulge.
So, whether you're looking for budget-friendly hostels, swanky hotels or something in between, Amsterdam's got you covered. Just choose your preferred accommodation and get ready to have a wicked time in this vibrant city!
We have a wide range of properties across the city, covering all the areas of Amsterdam that are most popular with stag groups. If you have a particular place you want to be close to, such as Leidse Square or De Wallen, just let us know. The same goes if you have a particular hotel, or type of hotel, that you want to stay in - we're always happy to accommodate your requests, pun intended, wherever possible. And if you're not sure, don't worry. Our stag do planners know Amsterdam like the backs of their hands, so they're full of useful advice when it comes to where to stay in the city.
Our Amsterdam stag hotels are very reasonably priced, and we have different types of accommodation to suit every budget, so we've got you covered no matter how much you're wanting to spend when it comes to getting your head down at night. That said, Amsterdam is of course one of Europe's most popular tourism destinations, and always a big European favourite with stag groups, so if you want to keep things as cheap as possible, consider travelling off peak, when many hotels lower their rates.
We have several great options for apartments in Amsterdam. Many stag groups prefer the privacy and flexibility of having their own space. Naturally, this type of stag do accommodation is very sought-after, so let us know as early as you can if that's what you're looking for.
We have some excellent stag hotels close to De Wallen, the medieval city centre, which is where Amsterdam's notorious Red Light district is located. We would advise staying a little way out though, just because it tends to be a bit less expensive and quieter. You'll only be a short walk (or stagger) away.
If you'd like breakfast included in your hotel stay, just let us know, and we'll make sure it's priced into your quote and that you're booked into a property with a kitchen. And if you can't start your day without a coffee, you're in luck. The Dutch drink more coffee than anyone else, so you're never far from an excellent brew.
With years of experience organising memorable stag weekends in Amsterdam, we've established long-standing relationships with a superb network of stag-friendly hotels across the city. As a rule, we never have any issues finding suitable accommodation for our groups, as there is plenty of accommodation available. However it does tend to be that those that book earliest have the most choice.
The public transport network in Amsterdam is excellent. However, whether you're arriving by air, by boat or by train (it's just four hours from London to Amsterdam by Eurostar) we can ensure you get to your hotel with no hassle whatsoever. Simply let us know what time you'll be getting in, and we'll have comfortable transport waiting to take you right to the door of your hotel.
Yes. The Stag Company is a member of ABTA (the Association of British Travel Agents), which means that, in the unlikely event that we should go out of business, your money and that of your friends is protected. Note: We do not include transport to your stag do, and any flight, ferry or train tickets should be insured separately.
While there are a few spots that you can stay on the Red Light District, there are many other better spots that would work better for big groups. The accommodation is very limited in that area, rather over priced and may not help when it comes to trying out other activities. Our team have worked for over 20 years sourcing the best stag do hotels in Amsterdam in order to ensure you have the best time possible.
