Cardiff Gorge Walking Stag Do's

Get active on a stag do in Cardiff, free your wild side and test yourself to the limit with a wet and wild outdoor adventure in the Brecon Beacons national park. The term ‘gorge walking’ doesn’t do this high adrenaline, physically challenging activity justice. You’ll take it to the max scrambling, swimming, crawling and climbing your way through a raging river canyon with our experienced guides looking out for you. Along the way you’ll explore the stunning features of this rugged environment including waterfalls, rapids and caves. And to top it all off, for the ultimate adrenaline rush, you’ll leap 30ft into a plunge pool. Prepare to get wet and enjoy the time of your lives. If you didn’t know everyone before, you’ll have plenty to share after this thrill fest.

The Brecon Beacons are a beautiful mountain range in Wales, providing the perfect venue for outdoor fans who want to take on a more adventure based stag weekend in Cardiff. If you've never done canyoning before, it's very much similar to gorge walking, as you travel down the river using a rope to get down the river canyon.

Your group will have the chance to jump across boulders, climb up cascading waterfalls and go inside the dark caves on this adrenaline pumping day-time activity. You will normally start at 10am, while the venue is 20 minutes from central Cardiff so you may want to pre-book transport for the group. Your group will all be registered at 10am and meet the instructor who will walk you through the day ahead. 

You'll each be provided with safety equipment, helmets and wetsuits so you're good to go. Just make sure to pack some decent trainers or boots which you don't mind wearing in water, as they're going to get pretty wet! You shold also pack swimwear, to be worn underneath the wetsuit, plus a towel to dry you off after the full day. Two extras, we'd recommend packing some clothes to change into afterwards, as well as some shorts to wear over the wetsuit if you'd like to (most people prefer to have some shorts over-top).

You day finishes at around 3:30pm, while the route you take will depend on everyone's ability, your instructor can work with the group to ensure it's the best possible experience. Plus, if you're brave enough, you can jump down the waterfall at the end into the water, following the instructors guidance on where to jump from and where to land.
