A Lancashire boy aged just 4 years old took on best man duties for his father in a Lancashire service last weekend. Hugo Mellodey-Hayes took on his responsibilities with aplomb, according to the boy's mother, Claire.
Claire married her fiance Nick in St Leonard’s Church, Balderstone, before the reception at Eaves Hall Country Hotel, Clitheroe.
Claire told the Lancashire Telegraph: “He (Hugo) was brilliant. He took it all in his stride. I’m very proud.
“As soon as we decided to get married five months ago we said we would like it if Hugo was the best man.
"We had to explain to him nearer the time what he had to do and what Angus, our younger son, had to do."
It's unclear where Hugo decided to take his father for his
stag weekend, but we'd imagine a
lap dancing stag weekend was off the agenda.
More likely would be a trip to a Wacky Warehouse, followed by a Happy Meal and a trip to the cinema.
The couple from Lancashire had been engaged for 16 years before deciding to tie the knot. In what was a rather unconventional service, Hugo arrived at the church aboard a tractor with his uncle Mick.
