The credit crunch may have put the brakes on some people's foreign holiday plans, but stag night revellers can still snap up cheap overseas flights, it has been claimed.
Bob Atkinson, travel expert at Travelsupermarket.com, said many tourists intend to stay in the UK this year as the recession takes its toll on vacation budgets.
However, despite the weak value of the pound and the growing rate of unemployment, he claimed a significant number of people still plan to carry on as normal.
For stag parties looking to enjoy a weekend away in hotspots like Spain and Greece, Mr Atkinson said there are still "a good number of bargains" on offer.
"People who are travelling are snapping up air travel and holidays at prices we have never really seen before," he observed.
According to a survey by the Association of Independent Tour Operators, more than 70 per cent of Brits still intend to jet off to Europe this year, despite the uncertain financial climate.
Meanwhile, 72 per cent indicated they expect to spend at least as much money as usual.
