The traditional stag do might centre on cheap overseas flights to cities such as Prague or Tallinn, but staying in the UK could soon become a more popular option for prospective grooms.
According to VisitBritain, the UK offers top-quality destinations good enough to stand alongside any overseas experience for holidaymakers looking to cut back during the recession.
People planning a stag do in the coming months might therefore opt to sample the nightlife of major UK cities such as Newcastle,
Nottingham stag weekends or Bristol before booking those flights to eastern Europe.
Spokesperson for VisitBritain Elliott Frisby said: "Once inspired to explore their own country, Britons will see that our destinations can easily rival any overseas for quality and value of experience."
This comes after communications manager at UKinbound Helen James said Britain offers "all sorts of things to do" for travellers, with a variety of attractions on offer across different regions of the country.
