Not only is Brighton renowned for good activities and a cracking night on the tiles, it’s host to one of the best comedy venues in the UK and we team up with them to send our groups there to get the stag’s night started. Bang in the middle of town its ideal to catch a show and then carry on the merriment and drinking in one of the nearby bars.
It’s an award winning venue that’s had some of the biggest names in comedy taking the stage to entertain from Jimmy Carr to Ricky Gervais. Newspapers from the Independent to the Sunday Times have raved about it and Chortle.co.uk officially rated it the “Best Comedy Venue in the South” for the past 6 out of 7 years including 2008 so it’s still has the sparkling gleam of comedy magic.
We find that whenever we go, reservations are essential as we’ve never seen a quiet night. It’s a buzzing atmosphere and all the staff are very friendly and laid back. You can dress up or down or even go in fancy dress if you want. There’s a surprising amount of space once you walk inside, but believe us it gets crammed with people just before show time. Handy hint – pitchers of beer are the best way to go if you’re in a group as it saves queuing time for the bar. Be ready to nip swiftly for drinks in the interval, the service is as quick as it can be but it’s always a good idea to try and beat the crowds if you can.
One of the reasons comedy mixes perfectly with stag weekends is that it’s a brilliant ice breaker. Chances are there are some of you that have never met one another before so rather than stand in a bar or have a meal with those occasional awkward silences until people have drank enough, let yourselves be entertained. The venue we work with has a range of top notch food available so you can soak up some of the pitchers of beer with some good grub.
There are comedy nights every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night with a compere and a variety of acts which is brilliant if you’ve never been before because there will be 3-4 different comedians to tickle everyone’s fancy at some point. Believe us we’ve never had a bad review about the comedy night we send our stags to in Brighton. If you’re looking for fun then this is for you and if you’re feeling up for it, make sure the stag is dressed like a nob and sitting near the front row. He will get picked on and it will be worth it!
