City Nightclub Edinburgh

Set on Market street, City Nightclub is a popular main stream club. The natural gathering for boys and girls who are looking for a good night out. The sort of nightclub in every city where you know you can find something to dance to, bars to drink in (at Saturday night prices) and plenty of ladies shaking their thing. It can get busy and groups of guys may have trouble getting in later on after a lot of queuing which is something to bear in mind if you see a long queue stretching back. Might be a good idea to get their early as drinks usually increase in price after 12, and high end prices may be charged on a weekend.

They have a Sports bar where you can start off in before moving into the main club, and then by the end of the night when the drink gremlins make your stomach growl there’s the City Grill where’s you’re sure to find something to soak up at least some of the booze.

With 1500 capacity there’s plenty of room, with good sound and lights, and the staff are very friendly.  Saturday night is their Love2funk night, so if after those pints and chasers you feel that actually you desperately need more than anything to throw some shapes to a mix of funky house, disco, RnB indie and Hip Hop, then this could well be the place for you.

Last Friday they had 3 of the X-Factor finalists performing so it tells you that this is fun, poppy and cheery. It also tells you it’s the sort of club to attract lots of females. They sometimes host lads’ mag nights and have had the girls from NUTS there and an FHM night, so it’s not just for the girls, they know a bit about what guys want too.

The club is currently jazzing itself up for 2009 and they are refurbishing but are not closing and most of the changes can be seen straight away. It sounds like it’s something of a make over, with new floor, colour scheme, furnishing and sound and light equipment. Might sound all Changing Rooms boring to you, but sounds like it’s going to be a nice turned out club for you to knock some drinks back in.

Bang in the city centre, it’s the perfect location for you to make your way to from the bars and stumble home from after all the carnage. Check it out.
