A newlywed couple have moved to thank neighbours for their role in planning their special day.
Lyn Kolodzinski and Mark Peric tied the knot on Valentine's Day, but insisted that they could not have done it without the help of their kind-hearted friends, the Fenland Citizen reports.
Neither one of the pair have relatives in the Wisbech area of Cambridgeshire where they live and Mr Peric was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year, meaning he is unable to work and spends all day indoors.
Ms Kolodzinski was also forced to give up her job to care for her partner, meaning the couple were unable to splash out on the dream wedding they might have hoped for.
However, neighbours caught wind of their marriage plans and sprung into action to make the occasion special, even organising hen and stag dos for the pair.
"My mother Barbara, Kelly and I went to Janice's house while all the boys - other neighbours Paul, Brian, Colin and Geoff - came round to my house to sit with Mark and have a few beers," Ms Kolodzinski explained.
Television personality and cancer sufferer Jade Goody also tied the knot this week, despite being advised by doctors that she might have just months left to live.
