Prospective grooms looking to beat the credit crunch have been advised not to cut corners when hunting out the perfect engagement ring.
Marks and Spencer is currently offering a cut-price deal to help young couples looking to celebrate their wedding day on a budget.
The retailer is selling an engagement and wedding ring set for just £18 in what it claims is the perfect solution for credit crunch weddings, the Daily Mail reports.
However, those thinking of scrimping on the cost of a ring to help save towards that big stag weekend with the lads have been advised that they might find themselves in trouble with their other half.
Cathy Howes, deputy editor of You and Your Wedding, said: "I think most brides would want the two most romantic and emotionally significant rings in their lives to cost a bit more than the price of a DVD."
Earlier this month, it emerged that couples across the country are having to hold back on traditional wedding day practices such as balloons and champagne due to the effects of the current financial climate.
