Edinburgh revellers could explore haunted vaults

Aside from being a great venue for stag parties, Scotland's capital city has a long, interesting and sometimes gory history.

Edinburgh is one of the country's tourist capitals and hosts an annual arts festival known as The Fringe.

However, at other times during the year there are still plenty of activities to interest those on a stag weekend - from skiing at Hillend's dry ski slope to climbing at Ratho Adventure Centre.

With Halloween fast approaching, revellers might wish to take part in one of the city's famous ghost tours - some of which take visitors into haunted vaults still used by white wiccans to practice witchcraft.

A number of operators, including Auld Reekie and Mercat Tours offer their services all year round and often host Halloween specials.

Stag parties with the guts to do so can even take part in an overnight stay in Auld Reekie's haunted vaults later this month.
