Even the most thought-out stag nights are often far from predictable, so one groom-to-be could be forgiven for being a little apprehensive.
Civil servant Alan MacDonald admits to being a bit anxious about what his twin brother might have in store for him during his stag do, despite being a master when it comes to anticipating the future.
The 42-year-old Scot, who lives in Edinburgh, came out on top in BBC Scotland's Predictor game for the football season just ended, having beaten fans, experts and sports reporters from across the country with his insights.
However, the Hibernian fan concedes that the football results each Saturday were far easier to foresee than the events of his upcoming stag weekend.
He told BBC Scotland: "I'm a bit nervous about what my brother's got planned."
Whichever way Mr MacDonald ends up celebrating his stag night, his guests should probably be prepared to defy the credit crunch and splash the cash on drinks and travel.
According to research by Halifax Current Accounts, the average Brit spends as much as £92.80 attending a stag do in the UK, while overseas celebrations set people back by more than £250 on average.
