Glasgow is proving to be a highly popular destination among those going on a short city break.
According to the Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, hotels, restaurants and shops in the area all performed strongly over the festive season, while a Glasgow stag do is still hugely popular.
As a result, the Greater Glasgow Hotels Association has been keen to highlight the various attractions of the city, as well as its broad appeal.
Mark Gallagher, co-chairman of the group, commented: "Glasgow still likes to have a party and a good night out.
"There is still positivity in Glasgow, despite so much negativity around in general."
Mr Gallagher added that people still want to enjoy themselves during the current economic downturn.
"Hopefully this will continue," he stated.
Glasgow was recently named one of the top ten cities in the world to visit by Lonely Planet.
According to the travel guide publisher, this is because it offers attractions such as cocktails, cuisine and designer chic.
