It may not have been the most traditional of stag dos, but groom-to-be Steve Jones certainly treated friends to a crazy weekend.
The 43-year-old snubbed a big night out in favour of staying at home - inviting best man Lee Ashford and a host of expectant revellers to join in a weekend of decorating instead, the Bury Free Press reports.
In an effort to wow wife-to-be Paula O'Hagan, who was on her
hen weekend in Nottingham, he ditched his
Nottingham stag party plans and set to work finishing off a conservatory he started building eight years ago.
"Paula had often said it would be lovely to have it finished for the wedding so all the bridesmaids could get ready in there," Mr Jones said.
He and his band of helpers worked through the weekend to get the job done, much to the delight of his returning fiancee.
And once the work was complete, Mr Jones still got to celebrate a stag do of more traditional sorts with a night out in Norwich.
The Norfolk city, home to several top bars and pubs, was recently praised for its "bustling" atmosphere in a new Lonely Planet Guide.
