When John Morley's stag night plans went awry just weeks before the big event, he might have guessed that the run-up to his wedding would be anything but smooth.
His stag party was over before it had even kicked off after the coach firm due to transport the revellers had its licence revoked, leaving him out of pocket, the Express and Star reports.
And the hapless groom was left devastated after having to postpone tying the knot with his new wife Karla when the couple's flights to Mexico were also cancelled following the recent swine flu outbreak.
Fortunately, tour operator Virgin stepped in to organise an alternative destination and the wedding eventually took place in the Caribbean Island of Barbados - much to the bride's delight.
"Everything was lovely. The wedding day went very smoothly," she said.
"Even though our dream day had been cancelled it was still a perfect day."
Coach trips to UK destinations such as
Edinburgh stag nights and
Nottingham stag nights are often popular with stag parties out to make the most of cities' nightlife, but revellers will be hoping for better luck than Mr Morley.
