Lineker set for low-key wedding

His stag do plans might remain a mystery, but sports broadcaster Gary Lineker seems certain to tie the knot this year - and his wedding ceremony is set to be a low-key affair.

The former England and Everton front man will wed 29-year-old fiancee Danielle Bux once her stint on reality show Hell's Kitchen is complete and the model revealed plans to shun the media limelight.

She told Now Magazine: "The wedding is at the end of the summer. Hopefully, it'll be nice and private."

Ms Bux added that her commitments with Hell's Kitchen, coupled with Lineker's busy schedule in his role as Match of the Day presenter, had put paid to their initial wedding intentions and prompted them to move the big day to later this summer.

Lineker's nuptials may look like being a quiet affair, but one modern-day footballer is going all out when he ties the knot himself later this year.

Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand will employ a trained owl to act as ring bearer for the ceremony, which is set to feature a guestlist including former teammate David Beckham, as well as US rapper 50 Cent.
