Those planning a stag do in the coming months might see little reason to look beyond England's capital city in the hunt for a top weekend destination.
London recently enjoyed a string of successes at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2009 as the tourism industry came together to recognise the UK's best visitor attractions.
The city was hailed for its diverse range of offerings, which is likely to provide plenty to keep stag parties busy in the daylight hours ahead of an evening of drinking and celebrations.
London Walks received the Golden Award in the Best Tourism Experience category for its variety of guided walking tours, many of which are fronted by famous actors.
Visit London interim chief executive Sally Chatterjee said: "London prides itself on offering a sheer range and depth of attractions, events and history in our city for both business and leisure visitors."
She added that she was delighted that so many of the city's attractions had been successful in the awards.
Those visiting the capital over the weekend will no doubt have been caught up in the atmosphere and excitement surrounding this year's Flora London Marathon, which featured hundreds of world-class athletes and well-known celebrities in the field.
