Those planning on holding a stag weekend in London may be among the visitors set to take advantage of the "buzz" surrounding an upcoming event in the capital.
According to Visit London, those heading to the English city could benefit from the hype created before and after the Olympic Games, which will take place in 2012.
The organisation revealed that £11 billion is being ploughed into the city ahead of the sporting showcase.
Interim chief executive Sally Chatterje explained that even those not interested in the games would feel the benefits during a visit to the capital.
Aside from the improved transport infrastructure, London will also likely see improved shopping, leisure and eating facilities, she predicted.
"For instance, next summer the new St. Martin's Courtyard development in Covent Garden opens to provide a buzzy, eclectic feel in keeping with its surrounding area," Ms Chatterje said.
Meanwhile, Lonely Planet recently included London on a list of the ten best value destinations in the world.
