Birmingham or Coventry might not be the most traditional of stag night destinations, but a new campaign will aim to raise the profile of the cities with tourists across the UK.
The £1 million marketing venture will see attractions across the whole of the West Midlands promoted on television channels and billboards up and down the country.
Those looking to celebrate their stag weekend closer to home this year might be tempted by the range of lad-friendly activities on offer, with plenty to keep them busy for the full two days.
Among the attractions being touted to visitors are the V Festival and Alton Towers, while regular updates will be published on more than 150 other attractions and accommodation offers for short-break tourists.
The nearby city of Derby is also gearing up for a busy summer, with a number of new hotel rooms set to open in the coming months and at least 400 to be completed by next May, the Derby Evening Telegraph reports.
Events such as the F1 Grand Prix at Donington are expected to attract particularly large visitor numbers, while more tourists are choosing to take city breaks in the area, according to tourism officials.
