Newquay is renowned as a top stag do destination, but the coastal resort has seen a particular surge in visitor numbers over recent months.
Following the launch of Flybe's direct service between London Gatwick and Newquay Airport, the airline has reported "tremendous success", with an 83 per cent rise in passengers between the two regions.
The triple-daily service, which launched in February, provides the only direct link from London to Newquay, near Cornwall, and Flybe is anticipating a bumper summer.
Chief commercial officer of the airline Mike Rutter said: "Flybe is looking forward to a busy summer between Gatwick and Newquay."
"As these figures show, the British travelling public will respond positively to a keenly-priced, punctual product that gets them to and from their destinations without fuss."
News of the airline's success comes after Cornwall was named as Britain's favourite holiday destination in a poll of more than 500 UK travellers by TripAdvisor.
