Newquay has long been a favourite location for stag parties seeking a holiday destination with a lively nightlife and plenty to do, but its popularity could be set to rise further.
This week, Newquay Cornwall Airport announced that budget airline Ryanair will be recommencing its services from the city, offering daily flights to and from London Stansted.
The move means revellers looking to leave the busy capital behind this year and enjoy a stag weekend on the Cornish coast will be able to make the most of quick and easy access to the resort.
Karen Medweth, head of commercial development at Newquay Cornwall Airport, said she was "very pleased" that Ryanair would be re-establishing the link with London.
"This route is particularly popular with leisure travellers who are looking to make the most of their time exploring Cornwall and the south-west region and we hope to see more visitors this year," she commented.
According to the Air Transport Users' Council, Ryanair's recent decision to remove all check-in desks and airport staff in favour of an online registration system could help cut flight costs for consumers.
