The coastal resort of Newquay has long been a favourite with stag night revellers, but its reputation as the surf capital of the UK is only likely to add to its appeal.
According to the Metro, an increasing number of people are being lured by the "escapism" of surfing during the credit crunch - and Newquay is home to some of the best waves in Britain.
The town continues to attract diehard surfers, families and stag parties alike, but those who fancy preceding a big night out on the tiles by spending a day riding the waves should head straight for Fistral Beach.
This section of the coastline experiences waves at all stages of the tide, meaning anyone can give it a go, the newspaper claims.
Of course, with Newquay's 40-plus bars and clubs coming to life after sundown, stag night revellers are sure to find plenty of places to party in the evenings.
Venues such as The Barracuda and Berties Club often welcome top Radio1 DJs, while The Beach is located right next to the sea and offers "a sizzling party atmosphere every night of the summer".
