For some revellers, a stag night out would not be complete without stopping off at a strip club along the way, but one groom-to-be has been banned from such activities by his doting fiancee.
Scottish Sun columnist John Smeaton will tie the knot with partner Christy MacPhredan next month in a romantic ceremony in Fife, but the writer has been forbidden from visiting any saucy clubs on his stag do.
Ms MacPhredan spent her hen weekend in New York downing cocktails and whisky before heading off to the strippers' herself, but she says there will be no such shenanigans from her husband-to-be.
She told the Sun: "[Mr Smeaton's] best man is planning a night for the boys - but he says they're not planning on going to a strip club."
However, Mr Smeaton may be in the minority if the results of one recent survey are anything to go by.
According to a recent survey by OnePoll.com, blokes across the UK will spend more than £1.5 billion on strippers during the course of this year.
