Stag parties looking to take a UK trip without missing out on the beach experience could plump for a weekend in Norfolk.
The region's Holkham beach recently beat off competition from traditional coastal resort Bournemouth to land Coast Magazine Award for Best Beach 2009.
Coast editor Claire Gogerty said the honour - which was voted for by readers - could help raise the profile of the area with British tourists.
"If people are looking for things to do and see at the coast, our winners are a great place to start," she commented.
Holkham's miles of dunes could provide the perfect location for a stroll when looking to shake off that morning hangover and is likely to come at a much cheaper cost than any European alternative.
VisitBritain recently announced plans for a £6.5 million campaign to promote tourism in UK towns and cities as the value of sterling remains weak against foreign currencies.
