People planning a stag do in the coming months might not have considered a trip to Norwich among their options, but that could be just the place for a heavy night on the tiles, it would seem.
According to a list of the best drinking dens across the globe, the Murderers pub in Timber Hill ranks among some of the top establishments in the world - and is the number one pub in the UK.
Offering "great beer and great value tasty food", the traditional English pub was named the sixth best bar in the world in the chart, which was compiled by the Lonely Planet guides.
The pub's landlord Phil Cutter told the Norwich Evening News: "I always knew it, but it's now official. The Murderers is one of the best bars in the world."
For those looking to concentrate their stag night celebrations in London, Gordon's Wine Bar, which is located in the English capital, ranked just one place behind the Murderers in the list.
Revellers visiting London might also opt for a trip to the city's new walk-in cocktail bar Alcoholic Architecture, which is filled with an alcoholic mist that is enough to get punters tipsy simply by breathing.
