Our nation's capital doesn't disappoint when you're looking for a
stag destination that will cater to your every need. It might seem a bit intimidating with everything going on, but roll up your sleeves and get stuck into the daytime activities and night life that
London has to offer. It will easily make your
stag weekend one you'll never forget – or one you'll barely remember... London's not just a sterling location for its nightlife however, it's also got some top notch outdoor activity centres. A popular one our guys have been asking about recently is the 4 x 4 experience so we thought we'd put together some info about what you can expect from off-roading in London.
What is Off-Roading
4 x 4 or off-roading applies to driving a vehicle which has power and traction going to all four wheels instead of two. What this means is that you have much more control and power of the vehicle and it can handle much more challenging terrains. The most common makes of off road vehicles are Land Rover and Jeep and as well as being a popular choice for WAGs, they're actually more impressive when they're not clogging up the high street but are churning up mud in a field. What was once primarily developed for agricultural uses has now become a recreational sport, because driving over crazy bumps is just cool. There are different types of recreational off roading from sand dunes, mud bogging and even rock racing. You won't need to know all this for your experience, just know what these mean machines are capable of.
What can you expect?
Once you arrive at the venue, which has been handpicked by us to ensure you get the best service and experience, you'll be briefed on the format of the day and safety and then it's enough messing round, it's time to drive these bad boys! There might be different formats to the experience for example you might have a lesson with an instructor who will teach you how to get the most out of your 4 x 4 experience including handling inclines, controlling the vehicle through door height water and how to drive into ditches and out again. You might also decide that you want to see exactly what your 4 x 4 vehicle can do when in the hands of a pro. Buckle up in the passenger seat and get ready to dig your nails into the seat because when you're tipped face forward at a near vertical incline, you're going to want to grab onto something, and the instructor's leg just isn't cool.
After spending the day in the countryside you'll be ready to quench your thirst in some of the best bars in the world. London has areas for everyone so you're bound to find somewhere to drink and dance that everyone will enjoy. If you're feeling sharp get yourself to Mayfair where some of the most fashionable
bars and clubs are like the Dover Street Jazz Bar. Or take yourself to Leicester Square and SoHo for something more funky and fun. Wherever you go you'd better make sure you've packed an Alka Seltzer or two... it's going to be a long night.
