Rugby player Brett Sylph might be suffering from broken ribs and a severe bout of disappointment, but he is determined not to let that put paid to his stag night plans.
The Percy Park captain sustained the injury as his side went down 22-17 to Tyldesley in the semi-final of the Senior Vase - meaning they will miss out on a trip to Twickenham for the final.
Despite the setback, Sylph has little time to reflect, with plenty still to plan ahead of his wedding on May 9th, the Journal Live reports.
He said: "We've got a lot to organise but I'm really looking forward to it now and, of course, I've got my stag do to contend with as well."
Sylph revealed that the celebrations will take place on the Easter weekend, with a party of 32 heading to Magaluf for what is sure to be an "interesting" few days away.
With the player's luck seemingly out in recent weeks, he might do well to heed the recent warning from Moneysupermarket.com that tourists should not forego travel insurance to save on costs in the current climate, as it could prove "a very costly false economy".
