Britain's heaviest snowfall in 18 years brought the economy grinding to a halt earlier this week and derailed the wedding plans of one happy couple in the process.
George Venizelos and Michelle Bartholomew could have been forgiven for congratulating themselves on their choice of date for the ceremony, with a blanket of snow offering the ultimate white wedding.
However, having tied the knot in front of friends and family in Huddersfield, the couple were soon left to experience the downside of the winter weather.
Ms Bartholomew drove home from the reception to pick up some clothes, but quickly realised that the snow had blocked her route back to her new husband.
This left the couple with no choice but to spend their wedding night apart, but Mr Venizelos insisted that the ceremony had still been "perfect".
The groom explained: "She couldn't come out of the garage. I couldn't do anything."
"I said: 'Don't worry, we have our whole lives ahead of us.'"
