Stag parties 'likely to find cut-price hotel deals'

People planning a stag weekend here in the UK this summer could be in for a pleasant surprise when they come to book their accommodation.

While sleep is rarely high on the agenda for stag parties, every big night out must come to an end, and booking a hotel room to come back to is a vital part of the weekend planning.

According to Nigel Pocklington, managing director for Hotels.com, stag night revellers are likely to find a number of top deals around at present as UK hoteliers continue to cut prices.

He said: "Hotels are realising that their business from UK travellers is declining so they are creating special promotions for UK tourists. There is a lot of that going on."

The number of great deals available up and down the country might encourage even more stag parties to hold their celebrations here in Britain this year, with cities such as Edinburgh and Bristol offering plenty of top bars and clubs.

According to Abta - The Travel Association, the UK tourism industry has already seen a rise in bookings this year, even before the busy summer months begin.
