Stag night revellers determined to shake off the effects of the weaker pound and venture overseas this summer might find Croatia to be the ideal destination, if the views of one expert are anything to go by.
According to Vesna Maric, co-author of the Lonely Planet Croatia travel guide books, the traditional Mediterranean country offers something for everyone.
He claimed that Brits are currently finding the exchange rate quite cheap compared to most western destinations, while hotels, food and drinks prices are also affordable.
Mr Maric pointed to a number of big summer highlights, including the Garden Festival in July and the Dubrovnic summer festival spanning both July and August, as hugely popular with travellers.
Meanwhile, revellers might find the often overlooked city of Split provides all the ingredients for a memorable stag do.
"It is very beautiful, it has very good night life and is close to the Islands," Mr Maric said.
According to the Croatian Times, the southern city of Dubrovnik is proving particularly popular with tourists, with famous faces including Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg and Catherine Zeta-Jones all having holidayed there in recent times.
