Brits heading abroad to destinations such as
Dublin stag weekends or
Amsterdam stag weekends may be interested in the comments of one company.
According to insurance firm Saga, those on foreign trips could find themselves in hot water if they do not book a policy before they go.
It stated such people would do well to consider travel cover at least as important as their passports.
A spokesman said: "Take the [insurer's] contact details with you when you go. It is important to make a full declaration to your insurer and to read the cover so you understand what you are buying."
He advised travellers to make sure they are completely honest with their provider to ensure their cover is valid.
Meanwhile, recent Tripadvisor statistics show 3.3 million Brits would not travel to a destination if they thought they would not enjoy the food.
The research also found five per cent will stick to the grub they know, regardless of where they go.
