Those considering booking a stag weekend in the Alps may be interested in a number of events being held by the Ski Club of Great Britain.
It is teaming up with Henry's Avalanche Talk and Snow+Rock to offer a number of educational evenings to those planning on hitting the slopes this winter.
The UK Off Piste and Avalanche Awareness Tour 2009 is sponsored by Arc'tyrex and aims to keep those planning on doing some backcountry boarding or skiing safe.
Ski Club chief executive Caroline Stuart Taylor explained the body wants to help teach the basics of mountain safety to help Brits enjoy their European break.
"With safety and snowsports continuing to hit the headlines, people are realising how important it is to be aware of how to stay safe in the mountains," she said.
The tour will visit Snow+Rock stores in Covent Garden, Gateshead, Chill Factore, Sandbanks, Chertsey, Kensington, Bristol, Hayling Island and Formby.
Stag parties wishing to attend before they set off on an activity weekend will be asked to pay £7 per person for the talks and £35 per person for the avalanche transceiver sessions.
European ski resorts often have good nightlife or apres ski to keep stag parties entertained after a day on the slopes.
Possible options include Les Deux Alpes and Val d'Isere - both in France.
