When the sunshine starts coming into the office, we start getting excited about summer, and being by the coast here in Brighton we also start thinking about the other great summer time locations for stag weekend in the UK. Just about anywhere in Britain is better in the summer time, but there are some locations which really come into their own when you add a spot of sunshine and a stag party. We’ve looked at our big map and picked out some of the best UK locations that stags want to go to in the UK for their stag weekend – in no particular order.
Brighton
Well it would have to get a mention wouldn’t it? Already tables are filling up outside pubs as revellers enjoy the milder weather mixed with their pint. Brighton is like a new born city in the summer with the freshness and enthusiasm for a good time like a first year student. From the beach, to the pier to the pubs and the clubs, Brighton’s hot spots come alive to entertain stags throughout the summer months here on the south coast.
Bournemouth
Shift west along the coastline for a few hours from Brighton and you’ll be greeted by the equally chipper Bournemouth with 6 miles of sandy (not stone) beaches. Even though it is the holidays for the university, many of the students stick around because this Dorset coastal town is just so much damn fun. Bournemouth is lively, stag and hen friendly with some fantastic pubs and clubs.
Torquay
Head a little further west and you’ll soon bump into the delightful Torquay. Welcome to the English Riviera, where, with its harbour side brimming with pavement cafes and continental night life your stag group might just forget that you’re in Blighty and imagine that you’re somewhere much more exotic. Torquay has a lively nightlife and is a big attraction with tourists who are coming to unwind, relax and let their hair down – so expect to find people in the mood for a good time.
Newquay
“The surfing capital of Britain” awaits your stag group. Here you can find beautiful beaches and great day time activities which can be as adventurous or as laid back as you wish. From surfing, to golf to Coasteering, Newquay explodes to almost five times its population in summer – that’s’ just how popular it is.
Blackpool
Embrace the tacky beauty of this hugely popular seaside town in Lancashire. Stag and hen groups love the friendliness of this town. With its bright lights, and amusements and happy hour pubs and bars, Blackpool really is like one big playground for grownups. If you’re looking for somewhere that loves a bit of fancy dress on a stag do – look no further than Blackpool
Edinburgh
In the Scottish capital – Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival alone is enough to put this location on our map for stag weekends in the summer. You need to book early if you’re thinking of going for the fringe – but if you do there will be a cracking atmosphere waiting for you. In August they also have the Edinburgh Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh international Festival. Choose Edinburgh during this time and you can guarantee you’ll have a stag weekend like no other before!
