An internet blogger has suggested an alternative to the traditional stag party.
Known as jimmythecuckoo, the contributor to road.cc is preparing for his own wedding in April 2010 and suggested a cycling trip may be the ideal choice for an unconventional stag weekend.
He noted his future "outlaws" own a holiday home in Catalunya and said he intends to make his way there to spend his "last weekend of freedom" doing what he wants.
One possible route the groom-to-be is looking forward to tackling is the climb from Bispal to the Angel near Girona - a city which has been home to cycling greats such as Lance Armstrong, Bradley Wiggins and David Millar.
Another is the road from Saint Feilu to Tossa de Mar, which he revealed was his vantage point for the recent Tour de France.
"So if it is down to me, a small group will be formed and a road trip completed," he concluded.
"Adventure and drama guaranteed and plenty of opportunity for some relaxed matey miles."
The Tour de France was won by Astana's Alberto Contador, who beat his seven-time yellow jersey-winning team mate Lance Armstrong to the title on his come-back to the event.
