Tenerife may be on the radar for those
organising a stag party outside of the UK after the island's tourist organisation revealed that Britain is its biggest market.
According to Tenerife Tourism Corporation, the Canary Island destination aims to cater for its biggest customers - UK holidaymakers.
Statistics from the Canary Islands Tourist Board show that the island is the most popular in the archipelago, with almost half (45 per cent) of total visitors.
"We have more five-star hotels than Barcelona - we have 15 five-star hotels," explained Tenerife Tourism Corporation spokesperson Arantxa Martin.
She added that the island is set to host a number of events in the coming months, including February's carnival.
The spokesperson admitted that numbers have been down this year due to the recession but explained that the almost guaranteed winter sun means it is likely to remain popular.
Brits deciding a
Tenerife stag weekend is too far away can stay in the UK and head to the pubs and clubs of Newcastle and Gateshead or even Glasgow for a change of scene.
