People looking to plan a stag weekend away without breaking the bank this year might find all they need for a memorable night is right here in the UK.
According to VisitBritain, the country represents "the best tourist destination in the world" due to its diverse range of attractions and entertainment offerings.
Traditional stag do locations such as Prague and Kiev have seen a slowdown in the number of visitors from the UK as a result of the credit crunch and the falling value of the pound.
However, whether in search of a raucous night on the town or an altogether calmer experience to celebrate their final night of freedom, stag parties staying in Britain are unlikely to be disappointed.
Bernard Donoghue, head of government and public affairs at Visit Britain, said the UK's "balance of the old and the new" makes it able to cater for tourists no matter what their tastes.
"We have certainly got one of the most diverse [tourist destinations] in such a small country," he added.
According to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, the UK was ranked as the sixth most popular tourist destination in the world in 2007.
