Communications manager at UKinbound Helen James said the UK offers "all sorts of things to do" due to the variety of attractions on offer across different regions of the country.

Whether those all important stag do plans centre on evening or daytime activities - or both - prospective grooms are sure to find plenty to keep the lads amused.

From cycling trips to golfing holidays, Ms James said the UK has "something for everyone".

In addition, those who opt to sample the lively nightlife and trendy bars on offer in cities such as Newcastle and Nottingham rather than jetting off overseas will find their pound goes further in the current climate.

Indeed, with the credit crunch affecting budgets and the unfavourable exchange rates making a trip to Europe more expensive, Ms James noted that a lot of UK travellers are choosing to holiday at home more this year.
