Stag parties may be looking to confine their celebrations to some of the UK's most vibrant cities rather than jet off abroad, but they should still remember to take out travel insurance.
According to Sainsbury's Bank, the number of people holidaying in the UK is expected to soar over the next 12 months as the credit crunch and the weakening pound begin to impact on travel plans.
This could mean more people look to hold their stag nights closer to home, but the bank is warning that people should still seek protection against any potential holiday hitches.
Sam Marrs, travel insurance manager at Sainsbury's Finance, said: "Many of the problems that you can encounter abroad can also happen here in the UK on holiday, so it is important to ensure that you have adequate cover."
Taking out insurance will ensure extra peace of mind for travellers and guard against potential mishaps, as well as covering the cost of the holiday if it has to be cancelled.
Tourism officials across the UK are anticipating a boom in the number of people taking holidays in the country this year as the weak pound deters many from venturing overseas.
