Horse Racing in York
A day at the races is a fantastic choice for a stag do. You get to walk into an atmosphere where everyone’s as into having a good time as you and your mates – it’s the perfect backdrop for a stag! Remember bring your best though, no jeans or trainers are allowed. Once you’re in and you’ve had a few beers, it’s time to place your bets. Generally there’s two types of guys out there: There’s the ones who like to make the most of being trackside. They watch the weigh-ins, read their form guides like students studying for the big exam. Hours of work can go into their decisions! And then there’s the type of guys who just pick their ponies at random. And we generally find these two groups get similar results!
Soak up the excitement and head to trackside to watch your horses thunder home. If you get a few favourites coming in first, or manage to bag an outsider then you can keep your winnings to take home with you – or more likely put it into the kitty to get even more beers in later.

A Day at the Races - Clocktower Enclosure

A Day at the Races - Grandstand and Paddock Tickets
One major draw of York is of course the opportunity to have a day at the races; a good old fashioned British pastime that you should definitely consider for your York stag do. It gives you all the chance to place a few bets and quite possibly win some funds for the big night ahead! With tickets to the Grandstand and Paddock, you are closer to the action yet don’t have to worry about getting all dressed up for the occasion. This means it’s a much more relaxed affair, just like a stag do should be, and that you can save getting into your suits for the wedding. Before the race there’s time to study the programme for the horses’ form, the trainers’ and jockeys’ track record, past wins and conditions underfoot each horse prefers, check the odds and place your bets. Then cheer your horse home, and, if you're in luck, cash in your winnings!
